Data Analyst (PowerBI / SQL) - Up to 50,000 - Pontefract
Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm - Hybrid Working Available - Permanent
Macildowie Data Analytics is proud to collaborate with an organisation in Pontefract to recruit a Data Analyst (PowerBI / SQL) to join our client's growing Data & BI function.
The key objective is to understand commercial analytics whilst building and nurturing positive relationships with internal stakeholders to create user-engaging BI/MI through running an ETL process involving SQL and PowerBI, reporting on key customer trends, customer buying patterns, budgeting and forecasting.
Main Responsibilities
- Confidently collaborating with internal stakeholders to construct appropriate value-adding commentary ensuring that the BI/MI you're reporting is user engaging and tells a story.
- Extracting data from core systems whilst partnering and cooperating with finance and the wider teams to identify trends creating new purposeful BI/MI on customer sales, customer buying patterns, customer returns, forecasting, budgeting and overseas / competitor trends, creating dashboards on a weekly, monthly basis using Excel and PowerBI.
- Creating financial performance reports against forecast working to identify tactical areas of growth.
- Transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive business growth and optimise performance.
- Cooperating with stakeholders to provide appropriate value-adding commentary helping our client identify gaps and explore.
- Working with raw data from our clients data warehouse, running a full ETL process including coding SQL data through to building stakeholder PowerBI reports.
- Identify opportunities to automate data processes and implement data quality control measures.
- Build a comprehensive and context driven, understanding of returns rates for use in modelling by income stream, adapting attributes to consumer returns behaviour and adjusting to numerous markdown events.
The Candidate
- Previous experience operating as a Commercial Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Engineer or in a similar position.
- Ability to create meaningful, clear dashboards with appropriate value-adding commentary.
- Proficient in using data reporting tools such PowerBI including DAX and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to commute to Pontefract.
- Comfortably able to query and code SQL data.
- The ability to convey complex data sets to stakeholders, ensuring the BI/MI tells a story and is user engaging.
