Job Title: Credit Controller

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire

Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 - dependent on experience

Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 1 hour lunch - Flexible Hours - 37.5 hours a week - Fully Office Based

You will report directly to the finance manager and will have the opportunity to take full ownership of the credit control process within a growing business, with the opportunity to oversee both larger and smaller to medium sized accounts/customers.

Job Description:

As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in the Finance team, focusing on Accounts Receivable and Credit Control. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Raising customer invoices, including consolidated ones with supporting reports.
  • Reviewing bank statements and posting cash to the sales ledger.
  • Chasing overdue debt and maintaining correspondence records.
  • Handling invoice queries and liaising with teams for resolution.
  • Following the company process for overdue balances, including issuing formal letters before solicitor involvement.
  • Conducting credit checks on customers and adjusting credit limits as per company policies.
  • Reviewing credit insurance for customers and requesting changes to cover limits as necessary.
  • Providing information and reports on accounts receivable balances, overdue invoices, and queries.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
  • Preferably Experience within a Retail Industry Environment
